In collaboration with the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of Dhaka, UDAF supported the “Standing Beside Flood Victims” initiative to help those affected by the devastating floods in southeastern Bangladesh. Students, faculty, and alumni joined forces to provide essential relief to 500 families who lost their homes and livelihoods due to the catastrophic flooding.
The relief initiative provided essential items such as food, clean water, bread, medicine, hygiene products, snacks, and other necessities to flood-affected families. The relief supplies were directly delivered to the following flood-affected areas:
Fulgazi, Parshuram, and Daganbhuiyan Upazilas of Feni District.
Burichang Upazila and East Batabaria, Iqbal Nagar (Khila) under Monohorgonj Upazila of Cumilla District.
Moreover, with the help of local volunteers, we extended aid to:
Char Kadira and Char Basu of Kamalnagar Upazila and the Chandipur, Ichapur, Korpara, and Lamchar areas of Ramganj Upazila in Lakshmipur District.
Chhatarpaiya Union of Senbagh Upazila, Noakhali District.
Certain regions in Chandpur District.
This effort also included financial aid to students of the department who were directly impacted by the disaster.
